I've never thought of myself as someone with a remarkable story.

I'm just Donna. 72 years old, a mother, a grandmother, a wife for more years than I can count.

I’ve lived in the same house for decades, watched my children grow, and now I spend my mornings with a cup of coffee and the familiar hum of the world waking up around me.

Through it all, faith has been the backbone of my life.

It has shaped every decision I ever made, every prayer I whispered over my sleeping children, every moment I chose to trust God when I couldn't see the way forward.

And somewhere along the way, I started wondering…

What happens to all of that when I'm gone?

My grandchildren know I go to church. They know I pray before meals. But do they know why I believe? Do they know what God brought me through?

That thought kept me up at night more than I'd like to admit.

The Ad That Wouldn't Let Me Go

I wasn't looking for anything in particular that morning.

Just sipping my coffee, scrolling through my phone, when something made me pause.

An ad.

Bold, black letters against a cream-colored background: "We are looking for 15 women over 70 to save their testimony."

It felt like the ad was speaking directly to me.

Curious but skeptical, I clicked – sure there had to be a catch.

But this click led to something surprising. Not a magic plan to buy, not a class to take.

It was something called Memowrite – a memoir-writing service that turns the overwhelming task of writing a book into something effortless and enjoyable.

And they had a simple promise:

"No writing, no stress – just your story. Answer 50 personalized questions, and we'll turn it into your memoir."

Fifty questions. That was it.

I Saw Their Stories… And Realized Mine Was Worth Saving Too

I scrolled further.

The examples of other people's stories captured with Memowrite caught me off guard.

They weren't about famous people or dramatic, earth-shattering events.

They were about real faith and real lives.

A woman who lost her husband of 44 years – and wrote about how God met her in that grief in ways she'd never been able to put into words before…

A man who spent his final years documenting every answered prayer of his life – a record of God's faithfulness, page after page…

A grandmother who had one wish: that her grandchildren would one day read her testimony and know, without a shadow of a doubt, that her God was real.

These were stories that would have been lost.

But now, they were books – beautifully crafted memoirs, held in the hands of children and grandchildren who would never have to wonder, What did she believe? What carried her through?

I could almost hear my own grandchildren years from now, flipping through a book with my name on it.

This was Grandma Donna. This was what she believed in.

And suddenly, I knew.

It was time to finally put my story and my testimony into words.

In Just 3 Months, My Life Became a Book

The process was simple.

I didn't have to struggle with a blank page or worry about "getting it right."

The Memowrite team took care of:

✅ Grammar and syntax

✅ Sentence structure, style, and cohesion

✅ Layout of text and photos

✅ Book design

✅ Printing and shipping

I just answered the personalized questions about my life – one at a time, at my own pace.

Questions that made me think, made me laugh, made me remember things I hadn't thought about in years.

Questions that asked about my faith. When I first believed. The moments God showed up. The prayers that were answered. The ones I'm still waiting on.

When they sent me a draft for review, I cried.

Not because it was sad.

For the first time, my walk with God wasn't just something I carried quietly inside me – it was on the page. Real. Permanent. Something my grandchildren could hold in their hands long after I'm gone.

It felt like me.

A few weeks later, I held the finished Memowrite book in my hands.

My name on the cover. My faith in those pages.

They Knew Me as Mom and Grandma – Now, They Know My Testimony

I didn't expect the reaction from my family.

My daughter read it first, calling me halfway through, her voice thick with emotion.

"Mom, I never knew what you went through. I never knew how much you prayed for us."

My granddaughter who never seemed interested in "old stories" sat with me for two hours asking about everything I'd written about.

They saw me in a way they never had before.

Not just as "Mom" or "Grandma," but as a woman who had believed, doubted, prayed, trusted, and been carried by a God who never let her go.

You Still Have Time to Pass Down What Matters Most

If you've ever thought, "One day, I should tell my story," this is your chance.

That day is today.

Not for the world. Not for strangers. But for the people who love you – for the grandchildren who will one day face their own dark nights and need to know that faith is real, that God is faithful, and that their grandmother walked with Him and never regretted it.

You don't need to be a writer. You don't need a theology degree or the perfect words.

You just need your life, your voice, your testimony.

Because the faith that carried you through grief, through doubt, through every season, deserves to live on.

Your story is more than just memories.

It's a spiritual inheritance. And your family needs it.

I lived through the events of the cold war period in Europe, escaped to Vienna by a special train with my money hidden in the toillet bowl. Then without my document worked…….

I’m 63, and I’ve been thinking along this line, to start preparing a memoir.
